Chew On It

So now that you’ve taken a little time out to reflect on some things, to think,
and to challenge ideas what now?

You know there’s got to be more to life than just “existing”, right?

Remember that pack of gum that brought you here?
What if that wasn’t a chance thing?
What if it was a Divine Interruption?
What if God is reaching out to you?

Consider it more than just coincidence.

Here’s the real story:
God created the universe, the plants, and all the people in the world – past, present, and future. When things first got started, everything was perfect. Man and God lived in perfection in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:7-8) and then something happened.

Something called “sin” entered into the picture (Genesis 3:6-7). God gave the man and the woman one rule and they disobeyed it, and ever since that day there has been a chasm between man and God.

Sure – we’ve tried to fill it. We’ve tried to find ways to get across, we’ve tried to pull ourselves up by our boot straps and be good enough and do enough good deeds, but it didn’t help. We tried to obey God and follow him through “religion” but it just couldn’t fill the void or cross the canyon.

The reality is this: We will never be good enough, say enough prayers, do enough good things, or act perfectly enough to be right with God. He is God, after all, and has a Holy Standard that He demands. However, in His perfect knowledge, God saw that, and He made sure that there was a way for us.

God said:

God Himself, He came down to earth as a man (John 1:14) named Jesus. He was 100% man and 100% God. He lived a perfect life, taught us what grace and truth were all about, and opened the door to go back to God. He did this by being murdered for doing right and becoming the perfect Lamb of God – the ultimate once-and-for-all sacrifice.

See, in the Old Testament, God demanded a sacrifice for sin. The writer of the Book of Hebrews penned: “In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. “ - Hebrews 9:22

God’s only Son came to this earth and was brutally murdered by Crucifixion to cleanse us of our sin against God. He died that day. The GREAT news is that He rose from the dead three days later to live forever and crush sin and death for those who would come to Him!

Jesus said,

“No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man. (14) Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, (15) that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

(16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (17) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

(18) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (19) This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. (20) Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. (21) But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
-John 3:13-21

Only through Jesus’ sacrifice of love can we receive the forgiveness of sin and a restored relationship with God – through Jesus Christ, the Savior.

Seems kind of too good to be true, right?

Well, it’s not. It’s the absolute truth.

So how do you get ahold of this? What’s the next step?

Well, you can leave this site and forget you were ever here, or you can ACT on what you’re thinking – or you can investigate more.
