You’ve been exposed to religion all your life, and all it is, is a set of rules that tell you what to do.

Take a look at the dictionary.com definition of religion.

1. A set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2. A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.

Truly knowing God isn’t about rules – it’s about developing a personal, intimate, and real relationship with the Creator of the Universe and learning about Him through His words, not the words of others.

God is not a distant, transcendent being that is unapproachable. God is closer than you think! He wants to be involved in your life. He wants to take your struggles from you, He wants to give you peace and hope for the future.

Consider this: What if we boiled away “religion” and just left Jesus? What would that look like?

History agrees there was a man named Jesus Christ who literally turned the world upside-down.

He was so important that they way the world gauges time is divided by His birth.

So who was He? Just another religious guru in a world of many ideas or the very Son of God?

C.S. Lewis writes:
"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: "I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God." That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

What if what happened 2,000 years ago really matters? What if it really happened?

What if Jesus was who He said HE was? It's an interesting question.
